Lengthy Storm!

 TL;DR:

A storm for the ages that brought 2-5 feet of snow to the Wasatch! The mountains are skiing likes its the middle of the season, but were just in the middle of December. We have seen cold temperatures and snow all the way down to the valleys all week. Snow showers should remain through the afternoon in the mountains, and then we clear out.

Nowcast:

I hope everyone got a sweet taste of that light blower pow this week! A shortwave trough is moving through the region that brought another 3-6 inches today. Precipitation should wrap up in the evening. Temperatures will be in the teens in the mountains today, and should drop to the negatives in the night. In the past 24 hours the resorts have seen anywhere from 2-12 inches of snow.

Short Term:

It's going to be a chilly weekend in the Wasatch. Tomorrow should be near 15 degrees in the mountains. The skies should clear, so enjoy the first bluebird days since the weekend.

Long Term:

Low pressure is leaving the area leaving us with a cold and dry weather that should keep the snow soft. There isn't much agreeance on the likelihood of low pressure returning next week, but it's worth noting that next wednesday is our next chance for snow.
