Nowcast:
It's currently 28F at the base of Alta. There are light winds from the southwest, but they are going to become stronger as the day continues. Alta is reporting 10" of new snow in the last 12 hours. The snow is slowly tapering off and should pick up again later today.
Short term:
The storm started with a southwest flow in Utah yesterday afternoon, which will switch to a northwesterly flow early Wednesday morning. There is a small possibility for a break from snow this afternoon. Snow levels have been high throughout the night and will continue to drop as the storm develops.

Long Term:
After the storm this week there will be a ridge building over Utah for about 2 days. After the ridge it seems like an active pattern is coming to most of the west, including Utah this weekend.
